No mater what if i overclock by 1mhz i get a severe drop in fps. I play bf3 and get steady 60fps during all game play but if i try to overclock my cpu it drops to 15-20.

Specs
Asus M5A99fx Pro 2 Rev 1 bios v0403
AMD FX-8120 family f Model 1 Stepping 2 family 15
Crucial Ballisix DDR3 800 2 x 4gb
Windows 7 Ultimate
Enermax EG565p-VE psu
WD 500gb sata 3.0 hdd
MSI radeon R6970 2gb afterburner

Don't get why any change is cpu causes this to happen

Thanks for any help

Ja, it is always better to use the bios for OCing... Make sure you get enough voltage as well. Some chips perform as specfied when insufficient voltage is supplied.
