Hi all,
I am currently running sketchup 7.1686 on an HP dx7400 2.33ghz with 4g of ram
XP SP3
My graphics card is an Nvidia GE 8800GT
I am considering upgrading my graphics card to a Quadro FX 3800 or similar.
Will I get better performance in Sketchup?

Short answer, yes. But would it be worth it? Probably not.
A RAM upgrade might be a more worthwhile investment, depending on what you're doing with SketchUp.
EDIT: Or, if you really want to get a workstation graphics card, go for a less expensive one, like the ATI 100-505505 FireGL V7700 512MB PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card - Retail . You don't want to spend $800-900 and find out that the graphics card wasn't really the bottleneck.

Thanks for that, My RAM limited by XP as I understand it and am using sketchup for landscape visualisations with lots of textures. All textures kept to minimum size. Will check out your reccomendation.
Cheers.
