mouse and lan ports stay active when computer is shutdown. why is this happening

  1. This is a little more info, this is a replacement board for a powerspec v201.The original fried in a year. can't remember if lights were on in old board but this seem weird mouse light stays on and ethernet lights stay on when computer is turn off.
  2. The Ethernet and mouse stay on because they are powered by the five volt standby supply. This is so that the computer can be turned on by activity on the LAN or mouse if the BIOS is set to do so.

    Thanks for the answer. went and check the bios resume on lan is disabled power on by ring is disabled wake up by PME is enabled. is this the cause

    No, the motherboard is designed to operate this way and you will be unable to change it through the BIOS. I normally have the BIOS options you gave set to disabled. The PME option is so you can start the computer with keyboard or mouse activity.
