Ok so the computer had a virus which caused the computer to randomly restart. All Internet and anti virus software was up to date but I couldn't run a test as the computer would shut down every time.
Since I have a windows 7 disk, thought it would be easier to just format the hard drive and install a fresh win7. With the new win7 on was still resetting. Checked all settings and bios, searched the net and tried everything.
Did a standard win7 reformat then tried dban, still random shut downs. Not over heating, mobo fine, memory fine, CPU fine, in other words everything should be working but it's not.
Can anyone please give me advice as to what else could be the problem?
BTW all scans came back with no errors.

Have you checked your event viewer for any indication as to the cause? What are you using to monitor your temps? have you run Memtest to rule that out? Have you scanned the HDD for drive errors?

Nothing was in eventvwr, sfc scannow detected no problems. Memory diagnostic, no problems. Temps monitored with front panel thermaltake Plus checked in bios.
Spare hdd sat for 6 hours no problems, problem hdd lasts around an hour max.
