How do I upgrade my bios with no CPU?

My current CPU broke. I plan on buying a new one but I must update my bios in order for it to be compatible. How do I update my bios? With the processor work enough to bring me to the BIOS screen? I have never updated a BIOS before, I am new. Am I going to have to buy a cheap, crappy cpu too, just so I can get to the BIOS to update it?

It depends on the mobo you have and the CPU you are considering -- what is your current mobo and what cpu are you considering? I'm not sure that I can answer but I bet there is someone on this site who can given your specifics.

Sometimes a processor that requires a bios update will function enough to allow the flash. What board and which processor are you intent on purchasing?
