Hello,If I upgrade from 4 core amd to 6 core amd,when reinstalling windows 7 can i use my "system image" backup to return my computer back to the exact same state it was in before the change in cpu's?

Are you using the same motherboard (i.e. just changing the CPU and nothing else)? If you are, you don't have to reinstall windows and yes you should be able to use your system image to recover.

If you are changing motherboards I don't think you can use your old system image to recover.
