Why is my computer suddendly so slow after defraging my hard drive

why is my computer suddendly so slow after defraging my hard drive. It keeps making the ticking noise of the hard drive accessing something but I show no operation in progress. Every command now has a delay, or even locks up the computer before it will execute. It doesn't matter whether I'm on the internet or not.

Any noise from the HDD is not good ! Backup all you can, while you can.
Ticking or clicking noise indicates drive is failing, and all the HDD activity on a defrag just made it worse !

It wouldn't be so bad if you actually had any knowledge of the subject matter on which you are commenting. Do us all a favor and take your 12 (so far) personalities and simply go away.
