Laptop doesnt see hard drive check cable error

i have a levono laptop worked great on my last four trips...two days ago i carried it on a flight...when i landed...its like the hard drive is not regonized...i get check cable message....so i took it apart no apparate loose connections...
replaced everything still getting the same error...ran bios and boot set up...drive not recognized..so looks like i will try a new drive..anyone know of a way to get the data off that apparently not working HDD?

remove the HDD from the laptop then try attaching your HDD to an enclosure or what ever adapter to convert it to USB for it to work as external HDD. attached it to any computer and then you will know if you could still recover your datas..
