Hello,
Just wanted your guys opinions on my score for the DX11 Unigine Heaven Benchmark.

My current setup:

Mobo: Gigabyte MA770t-UD3P

CPU: AMD Phenom II x3 720 (overclocked from 2.8 to 3.5 GHz)

GPU: XFX HD 5870

4GB DDR3 RAM

Win 7 x64

Benchmark Settings:
DX 11 1920x1080 resolution
16 AF and 4x AA
Everything else Max

Score:
Frames per Second: 29.8
Score - 752

Decent score for 1080p res with 4xAA in DX 11? What do you think of my current hardware? Are there an relatively inexpensive additions or replacements I should make that would give me a good boost in gaming performace? I am all about high quality visuals in 1080p resolution. Thank you

Not bad at all.

Now I'm going to have to go home and bench it on my rig and compare scores.
See how my i7 and 2x 5870 match up.

However, this benchmark has little validity untill all players are on the DX11 field.
On top of that, I wonder how well they are implementing their tesselation now compared to improvements in programming utilizing it in a year or so.

In addition, I don't think we'll see any games effeciently using DX11 for at least a year or so (especially if it has the adoption rate as DX10 did originally). Mostly it will just be patches that add a few shiny things, but drag it down because it's sort of patched in there. (E.G. Dirt 2 - all in all, it seems poorly implemented. It strikes me as just a gimmick rather than a feature.)

To the guy with the 480's, ATI crossfire within that class are getting better benchmarks. So no, I don't love them.. lol

Not to mention overpriced radiator.

Okay, just bought and installed Geforce GTX 470 (x2) SLI'd them and then found and ran this benchmark. From what I can see after everyone elses scores (including the 480 SLI'd & ATI 5800 series in crossfire) these cards are awsome!!! The 480's are only 200+- points more than my 470's, and I have better low FPS & high FPS, SWEEEEET. And they blow ATI 5800 series out of the water (on all benchmarking programs) The best part is they stay 50-70 degrees C on AIR cooling. I have very good cooling though. (Just under 28000 on 3Dmark vantage, 19000 on 3Dmark06) I know, this is a Unigine discussion but Im just to dang happy with my new cards. So to semi quote raphman,"gotta love 470 SLI" yes very much, and if you have ATI GOOD LUCK (typeone your out of your mind there is no proof of that, infact these cards 470-480 are compared and best in some cases the duel card 4G 5970's and 5870's. So do your research before you say something stupid!

I have a somewhat odd crossfire setup. I have a Radeon HD 5970 4GB and Radeon HD 5870 1GB. Both are overclocked at 900/1200. Due to the dual GPUs on the 5970 this is technically a tri-crossfire setup. Before anyone says anything about my CPU, I know it is the bottleneck =P.

These are the scores from my new PC. It's running 2 x HD 5970's in crossfirex on CCC version 10.10. Both cards have a modest overclock at 770 / 1055 on stock voltages.

The CPU is an i7 980x with no overclock and the OS is installed on 2 x 256 Gb SSD's in RAID0.

RAM is 6Gb at 1866 MHz.

Forgot to say: both GPU's are air cooled but the CPU is on liquid cooling. I would love to see the results from someone running a pair of 480's in SLI on a similar setup as I had the option of going for them when I bought my new machine but opted for the 5970's instead. Love the 5970's, but boy do they run hot and keep the fans running high and loud when under load!!!

Hi there, I would be very interested to see what results you got by leaving the 5970's at stock and increasing tessalation to max, infact setting everything to max!!

Cheers

Unigine seems to really like Nvidia cards.. I'm not home to post my results now, but when I get home I'll post em. On my 470, oc'ed to 850 Core Clock and I think 1900 Mem clock I get a 1300 or so score at 40-50 FPS (if memory serves).. Phenom II 965, 8 GB RAM, everything on air cooling.
