Sound card dell 4150

no sound from dell inspiron 4150 cant open the volume controls

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers reboot and install the drivers again. They probably got corrupted somewhere along the line that laptop is ancient.

Go to device manager and see if you have a yellow question mark next to any of the devices.
