Hello,
i am getting a new computer and the case comes with the PSU but the mobo that it comes with is 8 pin cpu but the psu only has a 4 pin. i want to use a converter to make it an 8 pin but I'm somewhat second guessing my self and i need a second opinion
specs
GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H AM3/AM2 /AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
RAIDMAX Tornado ATX-238WRP Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Raidmax RX-450K 450W Power Supply

Most motherboards work fine with a 4-pin connector. It shouldn't be an issue with a 65W processor.

A poor quality PSU puts all your components at risk.

I understand where you are coming from but even a $50 PSU from Corsair is better than anything you have from Raidmax etc. Believe it or not a good PSU actually gives you performance boost because it is able to give your computer better electricity and a smoother flow of it. It also won't damage it and good quality psus have good overvolt protections other securities.

CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168....

It is $55 with a rebate and great quality stuff.

The 4-pin or 8-pin connector is for the CPU only.

If my memory serves me correctly, you only need the 8 pin if you are using a quad core.
