More about using adapter good
  1. Most motherboards work fine with a 4-pin connector. It shouldn't be an issue with a 65W processor.
  2. ok thanks..... should i get it just in case though?
  3. RaidMax is a POS PSU. DO NOT use it. Invest in a quality PSU by Antec, OCZ, Corsair, PC Power, and SeaSonic.

Her's a pretty up to date list: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589708
  4. i would but im on a very small budget and right now computer thats way better then wat i got now for $270
  5. A poor quality PSU puts all your components at risk.
  6. yea but i figured that i have a constant load of 75% so thats y im being very ify..... but im going from a 8year old computer that some how i can run fallout 3 with a single core OCed to 2.1ghz and geforce 7300gt from BFG and i want a newish computer cheap

I understand where you are coming from but even a $50 PSU from Corsair is better than anything you have from Raidmax etc. Believe it or not a good PSU actually gives you performance boost because it is able to give your computer better electricity and a smoother flow of it. It also won't damage it and good quality psus have good overvolt protections other securities.

    CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003&Tpk=corsair%20450w.

It is $55 with a rebate and great quality stuff.
  8. well for now if i just use that first as a temp before i get a good one itll be mostly fine for like 3-4months wouldnt it? oh and a question came up for the 8 pin cpu slot is that is it for both the intergrated graphics and cpu or just cpu?
  9. The 4-pin or 8-pin connector is for the CPU only.
  10. ok thats what i thought but just wasnt sure

If my memory serves me correctly, you only need the 8 pin if you are using a quad core.
  12. ok thanks
