Best 1366 mobo for me??

I'm trying to get input for my next build, I'm going with a 980x, and I've been liking the rampage III extreme.
I plan on filling all the slots with 24GB of ram. The thing I see might be a problem is that I really want to get a
240GB OCZ RevoDrive, this is PCIe x4, and I was wondering if I'll have a problem putting that in, and messing
up the bandwidth for my graphics cards in the other PCIe slots?
I plan on going with either a couple 6990s or 3 6970s. (possibly just 2 though) I have an 800D case,
1200W PC Power and cooling psu, and a MP655 pump water cooled loop now. I plan on keeping all of that on this
next build, and I would like to get the 980x up to 4GHZ.

Please comment and critique the plan now (before I drop $3K and realize I should have done something different)

  1. The rampage III extreme is a good choice and with 2 cards the revodrive will not harm the bandwidth since it supports x16x16x8 with three cards.
  2. 1) rolli59 is correct about the Rampage III, except it is actually x16,x8,x8 since there are only 32lanes. It still will nor effect performance.

    2) Another option is the EVGA Classifiec 3, which is a slightly better board IMO,

    I stand corrected!
  4. The classified doesn't seem to support CrossfireX, only SLI, althoug I did see a FTW3 EVGA that does support crossfirex.

What's the reasoning for the classified over the rampage??
  5. It does support CrossFireX, if you look at the Details tab and under Features. At the price of the EVGA X58 FTW3, I would go with the ASUS P6X58D-E or P6X58D Premium. IMO

I would recommend the Classified 3 over the ASUS Rampage III for a couple of reasons, 1) IMO, EVGA's highend boards are the best overall boards - overall quality, price & performance (Overclocking & GPU power [3-Way SLI & PhysX]), & 2) As an owner I can contest to their quality and performance.

You will be fine with either choice so go with the board you feel meets your needs & likes the most. :)
