Can't connect to dSL.

My Windows XP Dell Dimension 2400 won't connect to my 2Wire modem to accept DSL. It recognizes the Ethernet connection and Modem, but won't connect to the Internet. It is something in the settings on the computer, but I can't seem to figure it out.

  1. Try turning your firewall off.
  2. Didn't work, all equipment seems to register, but it can't acquire IP address.
  3. Is your pc registering the port as connected?
If so, you should check your modem settings, and you might need to reset it.
  4. The problem was in Windows and the security program. We repaired Windows and it works fine, thank you for your time.
