I have an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (Brisbane) in Windows XP Pro SP3, is it still necessary to install Dual Core Optimizer? I have AMD Processor Driver installed for Cool'n'Quiet but I don't know if DCO is as important. How will I know if a certain program requires DCO?

I have never even heard of something called "Dual Core Optimizer".
You don't even need to install the AMD processor driver for cool n quiet to work.

I guess the simple answer is no.

Does that mean that I don't have to install Dual Core Optimizer nor AMD Processor driver after a fresh install of Windows XP Professional SP3?

It seems like CnQ does not work with Windows XP Pro SP3 without AMD Processor Driver. I just tried it.
