Hey all,

I'm looking into getting a video card for my current rig. I'm looking at these two:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447

and

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130514&cm_re=gtx_250-_-14-130-514-_-Product

I'm thinking about going with the 5770 as ATI supports DX11. I was just wanting another opinion. Rig specs are posted below:

Intel Core i3 @ 3.52 GHz
4GB DDR3 RAM
500GB Samsung Spinpoint F3
Gigabyte H55M-USB3

Thanks in advance!

I agree with shubham....not even close. The 5770 is about 30-35% faster with an equivalent processor...easy. My old overclocked Q9650 with the 9800GTX (same as a GTS250) could hit about 13,000 in 3dMark06. The 5770 is about 17,500 on the same machine. Plus, you get DX11 and EyeFinity - the 5770, if you game, can drive 3 1680x1050 monitors in EyeFinity in most games fairly easily (I wouldn't try Crysis on it, but...Dragon Age Origins looks and runs great).

5770 of course... knowing nvidias gtx cards skyrocketing, wouldnt overly suprise me if the 250 gone up in price... and glancing at the card youre looking at it has... 5770 is quite a bit more powerful and is more future proofed with dx11 and shader model 5 and very low idle power consumption

hey why shader clock will not come for ATI cards and also what is memory interface. memory interface for 5770 is 128-bit only, for gtx260 and other ati cards it has 256(4850,5670),448(260gtx). this will cause any performance difference.

Nah, the 5770 is the one to beat.
Surely you know by now that the 128-bit interface is just part of the equation and not a problem
The GTS 250?
If you had to rely on in game performance, maybe...but you have alot of folks here sold on benchmarks, so in that aspect the 5770 is a winner for sure.
