It looks like you can use a passive DisplayPort adapter for monitors running 1920 x 1080 or less. Anything higher would need the Active adapter. Can anyone confirm this?

I found the following on Newegg:

BYTECC AP-DPVGA-005 DisplayPort to VGA Cable Adapter 0.5ft (6") w/IC - Retail

Works for Eyefinity

Pros: Works for Eyefinity set ups - at least it did with mine.
Cons: None (yet).
Other Thoughts: Running eyefinity with 3 1920x1080 monitors at 5760x1080 on an ati 5870.

Works flawlessly (so far).

I've read that this sort of passively-powered, active adaptor should work with Eyefinity for monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080 (and with 1920x1200 with reduced blanking). But for higher resolutions you may need to use one of the active-powered (usb) adaptors.

I have the 3 monitors set up, all are duplicate and I can create a group with catalyst software but when I get to the arrange part all 3 monitors have blue corners. The 3 monitors remain all the same and I cannot change the resolution to have on screen across the 3 monitors. Help anyone? I have tried numerous set ups. I have the latest drivers for the 5870.
