Nvidia or ATI

I am stumped on what video card to buy. So far I have GIGABYTE GA-790FXTA-UD5 AM3 AMD 790FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
-AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive-OCZ AMD Black Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model OCZ3BE1600C8LV4G Corsair Professional Series 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Computer Power Supply CMPSU-750HX, Active PFC, Supports SATA and PCI-E . I just can't decide. I really don't want to spend 400 bucks on a video card . What do ya'll think? I plan to play games like battlefield bad company 2.

Definitely an ATI card for a 790FX board, something like the 5850 would be a good pick and wont cost you 400, only 300ish.

I would suggest dropping down to a 790X board and a 955 processor though, it will save you some and you wont take any significant performance hit and can just OC the 955 to make up for it.

If your rez is 1920x1080 like hunter315 said a HD 5850 will give you good FPS in most games, for better FPS the HD 5870 will net you about 30% more GPU performance, its as simple as that.


Now as for what do you need, only you can answer that question, like they say ( You can lead a horse to the water hole, but you cant make him drink it )
