Hi,

I can get HD5670 and 9800GT for about the same price. However, the HD5670 has 512MB VRAM (by Sapphire) while the 9800GT has 1GB of VRAM (by Galaxy).

I would like to know which one of them is faster at 1680x1050. Thanks.

5670.

you dont really need to concern yourself with the amount of ram until you hit 1920x1080 res. until then concern yourself with more GPU power for your money.

(also the 5670 is DDR5 and the 9800GT is DDR3 which is slower)

Derbixrace: But it isn't the same price range. The HD5670 is 500NIS while the HD4850 is 600. I would pay the extra 100NIS for the HD4850. If I had them, that is. :)

ohhh you are in another country, i just assumed you were from the us, the price difference between 9800gt and 4850 isnt so big at newegg so :)

what about a 4770? is that too expensive, its a bit better than a 5670.

The 5670 performs somewhat better than the standard 9800GT/4830 tier.

It performs almost equal to the 4770/8800GTS 512mb tier, and below the 4850/9800GTX.

So the performance difference is probably around 15%ish... you have raw power vs runs cooler/better power consumption/dx11 support.

I'd probably get the 5670 if I didn't have a GPU, or another 4850 for Xfire if I already had one.

The 4770 is out of my budget. I can't remember its exact price (talked to a seller on the phone) nor I can find it out today, but I removed it from my list because of its price, which means there's no reason to consider it anyway.

I think I'll get the HD5670. Thanks!
