Tripple channel question

hi I just built my 1st system and I made a mistake ordering ram. I have a intel board DX58SO that supports tripple channel ram, when I looked at picture of board not reading i noticed it had 4 dimm slots so instead of purchasing a tripple channel kit I purchased a quad kit 4 sticks of (CORSAIR XMS3 8GB DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 PC3 12800 CMX8GX3M4A1600C9) stupid I know.
Anyway my question is can I use only 3 sticks and will my board run as tripple channel. My cpu is I7 950

Welcome back!

I would send the Corsairs back and get a Triple Channel {MATCHED} set. Next, I would also send back the Intel DX58SO. Intel produces horrible MOBOs, you'd think otherwise, but the DX58SO has weekly posted issues.
