Ever since Phenom was made, I've always wondered how it was pronounced. My classmate says 'fen-im' like venom, but I say 'fen-om' as in phenom. The reason why I say 'fen-om' was because I was told that Phenom came from the word phenomenal, and thus I just pronounced it like phenomenal without the 'enal'.

How about you?

EDIT: Fixed poll. Can anyone explain why I need to put six possible answers if I only have five?

The proper pronunciation is FEE-NOM or FI-NOM.

I've always said fee-nom.

Does that mean that technically speaking, fee-nom-enon would be the correct pronounciation of phenomenon? Because everywhere I go, I hear fen-om-e-non, lol.

phenomenon would take after FI-NOM so it's more like FI-NOM-AH-NON and by FI its like the way you say FIfty

Apparently youre suppose to pronounce it as is in "Phenomenal"
But I say fe-nom anyways.

Both are correct. I looked it up after my friend kept saying "you mean feenom?" after I would say feh-nom

Its "FEE- NOM" Any other pronunciation is incorrect. I still can't believe people have a difficult time with such simple words.

Fee-num? Fennum sounds much better IMO, that's a shame. :/  I always thought that series sounded cool now it sounds like a mix between femur and semen lol. LAME.

Does it really matter?

As long as you don't pronounce it pe-he-en-um then your fine.

Ah, figured nom sounded like num in that situation.

Thanks for the caps, wouldn't have figured it out without them.

Still a horrible name choice IMO. Feenawm. :)

Wasn't the Phenom supposed to come from phenomenal(fi-nom-uh-nl). So it would be pronounced like fee-nom.
I still like fen-om better then fee-nom.

How do you know? Are you from there? If this is how you say it then it is sad for you. Not for everyone... so speak for yourself, please. :)
