dude first of all donot go to any local retailers and if you go you'd better bargain the hell out of them.. i prefer you buy at lynx india or anywhere else if you get better deals...

secondly, even though the exchange rates are 46rs per usd, you might wanna calculate it as 60-70rs/$ for certain products due to vat and tax..

thirdly, donot compare the prices of newegg with indian prices...!

so here's an interesting config:
buy an athlon ii x4 630 --- 5198
Biostar TA790GXE 128M --- 4770
Corsair CGM2X2G800 2GB ---- 2415
Coolermaster Elite 330 With 400 Watts SMPS ---- 3320
Benq 20 E2200HD LCD----6500
other accesories ------ 2000
9600gt ---- 4k
Cpu cooler ---- 1000
creative 2.1 sbs 380 ----- 1183
iball laser duo (keyboard+mouse)--- 834

possible upgrades:
if you have got more cash for a 3-4 year upgrade, then i recommend you go ahead and spend 2k more on the monitor to by a 21.5 full hd benq monitor, and buy a dx11 graphics card

otherwise this rig should serve all your purposes but dont bank on some extreme gaming as the card is to weak to endure it..

hmmm....

nice rig! frankly , i'm not very sure about the AMD's. never used any. u seem to be from India..?

there are a couple of things which are confusing me in my rig.

should i go for 500 gigs instead of 320 gigs as i believe the price difference in not much..

about the RAM....i'm not sure whether to go for 4gb instead of 2gb.

regarding the GPU......not sure if this would support high end games.

regarding the speakers...i'm getting creative and iball mostly at the same price..even though creative is good...i would still want to go with iball as 1. it give 40W output and 2. i'm not a happy creative customer. had problems with it's volume controller which was never resolved!

and lastly , the monitor...LG i suppose is nearest to the real color experience and they have a greatly appreciated after sales support...??

AMD processors = the best bang for the buck. They are solid processors and are much better for a PC around the $600 range. You would only want to go intel if you were above the $1k range.
