Greetings.

Build for my brother. Primary use is streaming movies (Netflix), watching DVD/BD, general surfing. Absolutely no gaming or other high need uses.

Budget: $700-ish

Don't need: Keyboard, mouse, monitor. Only tower, internals, and OS needed.

Plan to buy: Immediate

Resolution: His TV is 720p and his monitor is about the same or less.

Based upon his low requirements I don't see the need for anything extra-ordinary. He would like a TV Tuner card for broadcast digital.

Rosewill case and PSU

500 GB 7200.12 (He's NEVER used up more than 60 GB in his life)

Asus M4A785T-M Onboard 4200 video adequate?

Athlon II X2 240

Crucial 2x1 DDR3

Lite-On BD player

Hauppage WIN TV 1600

Win 7 Home 64 OEM

Primary questions:

Am I under-building anything? I can't see that with the low usage required.

Am I over-spending on anything? No need at all to spend money on overkill, but I don't want to limit future expansion.

Please explain your opinion. IMO, the case is well reviewed by hundreds on Newegg. The power supply isn't much, but this build won't be doing anything that requires much power at all. If you have a valid argument to the contrary, I'd be glad to hear it.

The case isn't bad but the PSU is, if you like the case just get that one and change the PSU as it could blow up your build. Look for one with continous power, would recommend Antec as it is good value and good quality.
