Question: E8400 with DDR3 1333Mhz

Hello all, I am new member!

So I somehow started reading about overclocking recently, I never wanted or intended to do it, but well I might do so in future, but for now I have one simple question for you people who know a lot more than me.

If I am not mistaken then max FSB for DDR3 1333 is - 1333/4=333.25 - right?
And my CPU by standard works at this speed, but the question is -

- Can I try to overclock my Wolfdale E8400 cpu to (let's say) 350 FSB without overclocking RAM ?

I am super inexperienced at this, so please help me understand this.

First Of All ... I think its possable... I ocd my e8400 To 3.98GHZ and i have a gigabyte ep43-ud3l With ddr2 800 4x 512... Runs stable... it has been running that frequinsy for 2 years now and im a gamer...

PS: try not to bother with voltage...

Sorry for bad english

ok thank you, but what about motherboard? I have ASRock P43R1600Twins I heard at some other place that this old is bad for overclocking is that so?

old has nothing to do with it.

that has the P43 chipset which is decent enough; its a lower "binned" P45 which were the best socket 775 chipsets for overclocking.
