Here would be my recommendation:

Optical ($28): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106334
Got this driver because its not an OEM which means it has the cables and software needed.

Harddrive ($55): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148395
Its probably the highest recommended hard drive for gaming builds.

Keyboard/mouse combo ($11.50) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823664006
Very simple, cheap, functional keyboard.

RAM ($104): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409
One of the cheapest DDR3 1600 ram with a great price/performance and great reviews.

OS/Mobo combo ($215, $10MIR): http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.333251
Windows 7 OS, the mobo is crossfire dual x8 comapatable, DDR3, AM3 chipset $10 MIR and its ASUS.

GPU/CPU combo ($450: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.346123
Your probably wondering why I got a pre-overclocked 5850 but with this combo its actually cheaper to get a pre-overclocked 5850 and a 955 cpu together, than a $309 (core-clocked) 5850 and a 955 separately. But the 5850 is a very good graphics card and should handle most games at max settings on monitors 1920x1080 or less except for crysis. You can just buy a another 5850 too one a year or more from now when games get more demanding and it will be much cheaper then, maybe even in the $230 range or below. The CPU is very overclockable, L3 cache and is the second best AMD cpu, behind 965, but that pretty much an overclocked 955.

Case/PSU ($130): http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.345228
Probably the most reliable case/psu combo for gaming builds. The contiunous 650w psu should work even with dual 5850's in the build. The case is loaded with three 120mm fans and one 140mm fan. Plenty of cooling, and looks cool too!

Total $993.40 -$10MIR
Only $10 in shipping with all products too!
I chose this build for its upgradeablity, you can add another 5850 later when games are too much for a single 5850. The psu also set for dual 5850's so you wont have to buy another one later. The mobo handles DDR3 ram and has a AM3 chipset which isnt going away anytime soon. Enjoy the build, still be open to other opinions though, whitefang is good with builds also.
