How good is this build compared to the one i have?

Im planning on upgrading my computer with a EVGA p55 sli motherboard, core i5-750 and crucial ballistix 4gb DDR3 1333 ram. I already have everything else that i need, I just want to know if it would be a good upgrade from my current build to get alot more performance especially for gaming? It seems like my cpu is bottlenecking my graphics card a bit, even when i overclock it i dont see any improvements.


Current build:

Asus P5n-E sli 650i
Core 2 Duo E6550
Radeon HD 5770
4gb Corsair 800mhz ddr2
Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 250gb

you would get alot more performance in newer multithreaded games

Although honestly, I do not see how the your OC'd E6550 will bottleneck the HD5770 as it is not too top of the line.
What resolutions are you playing at anyway?

thanks for the info, i play at 1920x1080. left 4 dead 2, portal, team fortress 2 work great with mid to highest settings on that resolution but then when i play battlefield bad company 2 i cant even play on the lowest settings without it lagging really bad even on a really low resolution. im not really sure if its a bottleneck but evertime i log into windows the welcome screen has really bad screen tearing for some reason and also when i log out of windows. it didnt do that when i was using a geforce 9600gt. i dont have my cpu overclocked right now since it doesnt feel any faster when i do have it overclocked.
