Ram slot not working?

my friend has a p7h55 motherboard which has ram slots A2A1 B2B1 . recently he tried changing his ram stick from the B1 slot to another but the ram didn't work. hes now worried whether his mobo is screwed or is it that theres a particular order in which you must install the ram ?

download the manual if you don't have one.If you have two sticks of RAM, make sure they are installed in the same colour slot.
If you only have one, you should either use A1 or B1.
I told him the exact same thing ,either to use A1 or B1 but ram works only when its in the B1 slot . A1 slot does not work . god knows why.
