Installing SATA DVD Drive to IDE connector

Hello,
I have a Disc Publisher that needs a replacent DVD Drive installed. Unfortunately the manufacturer switched from IDE DVD drives to SATA ones not long after I bought mine, so the connector to the board is IDE but I can only find qualified SATA drives to buy.
Is it as simple as using an IDE to SATA adaptor/converter?
