Hello guys,
I want to ask about whether I can overclock the i5-3450 on the P8H61-M LX motherboard. The motherboard itself is made by ASUS and I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as my OS. Anyway, I've watched some videos about overclocking the i5-3450 and they can put the CPU ratio all the way up to around 37, while the maximum for me is 31. I also noticed that my BIOS didn't have quite a lot of the options seen in overclocking videos and tutorials. Can someone please tell me how to overclock the i5-3450 here, thanks in advance.

The H61 series of mobos is not used for OC'ing. Nor is the CPU you have capable of OC'ing without great risk ov burning it out through overvolting.

You need an Intel chip with a K suffix and a P67, Z68 or Z77 mobo to overclock. Your setup will run just fine and use turboboost, but you cannot OC safely.
