If you have a motherboard that supports AMD CPUs and has an AMD chipset, is there anything wrong with using an Nvidia video card, such as a 460 GTX, or would you have to have a motherboard that has an nForce chipset?

There is nothing wrong. I use a GTS 250 on my 790 chipset mobo. Just dont install the mobo video drivers (if any) because ATI drivers may conflict with nVidia.
