Fan/Fan Controller Combo, need some advice!

Well I've been reading reviews for days on fans and fan controllers and I'm thoroughly confused. I currently have a Scythe Mugen 2 CPU heat sink and I'd like to change the fan on it. I'm looking at 120x38mm and I'd like to get my hands on a San Ace. My biggest problem is that there are so many different models of fans that it's hard to figure out which is which and due to the San Aces not being available i might just go with a Scythe Kaze 3000. I would like to know some personal favorite fan/fan controller combo's you all have? Maybe some personal experience might help me make my decision.
