P.S. Operating system to be installed is Windows 7 Ultimate. I realize there are some issues installing Windows XP. So, I negated my Windows 7 home premium for a fresh install of the Windows 7 Ultimate. Thanks the noob

Set Bios to AHCI. Disconnect ALL other HDD untill after windows 7 is installed.

After install:
.. Download the Intel RST driver (Version 10.6 or later) and install.
.. Down load and run AS SSD (don't need to bench mark) just look at upper left to verify:
A) Latest Firmware for SSD.
B) driver is iaSTor (Should be msahci until you install Intel RST driver).
C) Partition alignment = OK.

A couple of tweaks I always do (Your tweeks may depend on size of SSD - didn't indicate and My recommendation is for a SSD =>90 Gigs:
.. Disable hibernation.
.. Set page file (virtual memory). Set Min/Max to same value. For Ram > 4 gigs try setting to both min and max to 1024 mb (for 4 gigs ram try 2048 mb).
.. I also move the "my Documents" folder to the HDD.

You can Goole "SSD Tweaks" and select the ones you feel are best suited for your individual needs.

Your SSD should be connected in AHCI mode to ports SATA6G_1 or SATA6G_2 for maximum performance.

Page 2-2 of your motherboard manual will show you the location of the ports.
The ports are set to AHCI mode by default so you don't need to change anything.
If you wish to verify that the ports are in AHCI mode see page 3-21 of your motherboard manual.
