APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: This month if possible

BUDGET: £1000

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: DX11 Gaming > HD movies > Photo / Film editing > everything else

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Screens/OS/Mouse & Keyboard/ - pretty much just need a new tower

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Ebuyer/DABS - but im open

PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD / ATI preferred but I'm open

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes at a later date

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Mainly for gaming and HD movies + bragging rights ;) I want to get as much bang for money as possible. I would like a newer screen at the same resolution as my current as its starting to dim, I would like a recommendation of a decent screen if possible this will eventually be brought after this build, but include if you can! that would be even better, but the tower comes first :)

ATI 4770
ASUS V2a M - Motherboard
Seagate 250GB SATA HDD

I really want to try Water Cooling - Corsair H50 (It was on eBuyer yesterday!)

Well, thats what I came up with.

Thanks for you help,

You're spending extra on things that don't get you anything.

Case: Switch to the HAF 922. It's almost as big, and is a lot cheaper.

CPU: The 955 is the same as the 965, just without a factory overclock. Save yourself the little bit of cash.

Mobo: The Crosshair series is extremely expensive and doesn't give you a whole lot. Check out the Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H to get AMD's newest chipset (garaunteed to work with 6 core CPUs) or the Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4. They're both cheaper and a lot more future proof.

RAM: Find some 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 sticks. Don't be afraid of other brands, as Corsiar is usually overpriced.

GPU: HD 5870.

PSU: 850W is a tad overkill. I would drop that to a 750W version.

HSF: Water cooling is overrated. Grab a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus and have one of the best coolers out there.

EDIT: BTW, this is what you can get for an equivalent amount of money in the US. You might want to check out the prices of the parts over there...

CPU: i5-750
Mobo: Gigabtye GA-P55A-UD3
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB
GPU: HD 5970
PSU: Corsair 750W 80+
Case: HAF 922
Optical: Cheap SATA DVD burner
HSF: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus
