Does it hurt to add more fans than necessary?

I don't really have any intention on OCing but my case has room for 10 120mm fans. I was thinking of just buying a bulk amount and installing them for S's and G's. I don't really mind the noise present from fans but I wouldn't want to cause problems with that much airflow. Is this okay?

More fans are not a bad thing, provided they are installed in such a way that the airflow from the various fans don't interfere with each other. Minimum spec should be intake fans bottom front, exhaust fans top rear. Anything else is optional. Side fans can do more harm than good since they tend to interfere with the front-to-back airflow.

Okay. Thank you, Herr_Koos. My case does have two side panel fans and I wasn't sure if they should have been exhaust or intake so I suppose I will just do without them!
