Is the Socket 478 Extreme Editon processor (3.4 ghz, 1 meg cache, 800 bus) considered to be an early dual core processor, or a late single core processor?

This was the first Intel processor with hyperthreading.

A Pentium 4 HT processor is a single core processor it is by no way considered a dual core. The first Intel Dual Core processor to hit the consumer market was the Pentium D's which were on the socket 775 platform.
