I have a 9 month old hp p6270z and I run alot of programs at once on it.

lately it's been dragging along and locking up quite a bit and I'm thinking that upgrading the motherboard might help. I run multiple virus, spyware, malware programs and defrag once a week so i think i'm clear from any of the typical problems that can cause a sluggish computer.

what would be a good upgrade motherboard that will perform well in running multiple programs? No gaming, more video editing and multiple programs running at once.

thanks

this is my setup:

thanks rolli,

I just got back from microcenter and they said the same thing and recommended i go with the the AMD 965 Phenom x4 black edition.

If I needed to upgrade my cpu wouldn't i be seeing the cpu usage running near it's limits? I'm not seeing my cpu usage running high at all...usually around 25-30%
