APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Today if possible. I wouldn't want to go over $1000 unless i really need to. The cheaper the better..

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Multimedia, Gaming, Browsing, and light video encoding

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: I need everything except for a monitor.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: Intel Core i5, and ATI 5000 series... I think I'm going to stick to the 5770.

OVERCLOCKING: I might overclock. If I do it's going to be very minimal maybe 10%-20%, I doubt I Will be using Xfire though

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: This is my public wishlist http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx...

I don't know what motherboard to get or RAM. Also any suggestions with the current parts i have listed.. Thermal paste, cables, etc anything I missed please add in!!

More about : finish build

You will get some more (and strong) opinions on mobo choices (people have their favorites. Do you have any favorite manufacturer ?

That log list is really supposed to make you think of cables and stuff like drive-mount size adapters and all that, in terms of SUBSYSTEMS.

Like you STILL might need another 10' HDMI cable and that is not inside the case so, browse the list or not ... it's just to queue your memory as to where those little things are hiding ...

NEXT UP * * * HEAT SINK AND FAN

I like Saphire better because this is all they do and they've been around a long time ...

They use highest quality coils and caps and have a solid rep for making cards that have less RF noise ... just better parts and build (dating back like 20 years).

Anyway ... the powercolor will get you there ... it will do. The Saphire has two DVI ports ... thought the powercolor might have had only one of those.

I was on a thread with 4 senior techs, a few days ago and they all seemed to like the samsung over the LiteOn DVDRs ... I've had many LiteOns, with no probs, ever but the others were saying there are more fails with LiteOn so ... it's a little cheaper, too. Good Rep.

Yeah I think I'm going to go with the samsung, I remember using a LiteON back in the 90's and It actually broke a few of my cd's including diablo 2.

So far http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx...

I might actually consider Crossfire, which motherboard supports Intel Turbo Boost + Crossfire I will take that into consideration.

I don't really have any really favorite manufactures I've only built 1 pc in the past.

Just remember that *MY* goal is to build a CGI-Render/Video-Transcode "Engine" and that YOUR goal is "Gaming" so be sure that the MB YOU select allows for the appropriate xFire/SLI lane configuration (8x8, I think) ... Actually, I am looking at 8x8 as well because I am dropping two, dissimilar workstation cards in mine, but I do not think SLI will come into play, on my rig.

Never hurts to have "full config flexibility", just to leave my own options open and to allow a better chance of re-sale and re-use, by me or others.

PLEASE EXCUSE ME !!

THOSE X58s are not at all appropriate for you budget! (or mine, really) ...

... If you don't mind AMD then that would definately be the way to go (serious) ..

.. They just released a new whiz-bang chipset and "core-unlocker" mobos ... You can go with a fast 3 or 4 core P-II (Socket AM3 mobo with a ...

... ... Never mind all that ... Here is my pick as the best gamer's board available right now ... (I'm thinking about it for my OWN purposes, as well).
