Not able to format hard disk

Im not abl;e to Format My hd ,actually im trying to install a another O/S in my hDD
Can Any one help?

A little more info would be helpful. Are you trying to replace the current OS? Are you trying to format the drive from the boot disk or from your current OS?

If the HD you want to format contain the primary os which you are running, you could not format it, you could only format it out of the os or turn your HD to another OS and make it as a slave drive, then you could format it.
