I5 3570k only overclocks to 3.8 ghz

How do people overclock there cpu to 5 ghz in the as rock tuner it only goes up to 38 which its at now on stock voltages. Can someone with this cpu please tell me there multipler and voltages

also theres no option for core clock how do i raise that? theres only one option for overclocking in the software im using and the bios doesnt have anything for overclocking core clock either. im about to just put it back at 3.4

It sounds to me you may have a 3570 (non K) chip. Please give your mobo model type and verify your processor is in fact a 3570K.

ur mobo chipset is the problem, you need a z77 board.

well i dont really care im keeping it stock its going to run cooler and longer life overclockig is bad.. mkaay? but seriously its fast enough for just what im doing (some gaming )

u guys told me to buy it i saw a theead for bf3 on this site and it was a bf3 build and it was recomended im closing the discusiions becuase you guys are a wholes

great news i just got a z77 with sli and i got a new product activation key from ms (i have oem) im still going to keep it stock though
