DDR3 RAM for C2D e7400

Hey guys, currently my specs are

Processor: Core 2 Duo E7400
Mobo: XFX 9300( nvidia nforce 730i )
GFX : radeon 5770
Ram : 4gb DDR2

Thinking about changing my motherboard casue i want to upgrade from ddr2 to ddr3. Can u help me by suggesting a good motherboard and a solid ddr3 ram?? i dont understand about the latency and frequencies in rams... so please help me out.

Hello and welcome to the forums
IMO its not worth it to change your motherboard only because of adding a DDR3 RAM because the difference between DDR2 and DDR3 isn't much.So if you are going to upgrade, change your CPU as well.

for me thats not an option right now.... I have to stick with this Processor for the next one year or so & as im tight on budget & the only thing fall within my reach is the i3-530 which gives out more or less the same performance.

but if i upgrade to ddr3 ram atleast i can use them for my new build.this is my main reason i want to upgrade.

If you are going to use Core "i" CPUs,then you can't use the same RAM because Core 2 CPUs require different RAMs with different voltages.

Hey Maziar i just googled a little bit and found out that, switching to ddr3 on a e7400 wont give me much. so I am going for ddr2 instead
