  1. Hello and welcome to the forums
IMO its not worth it to change your motherboard only because of adding a DDR3 RAM because the difference between DDR2 and DDR3 isn't much.So if you are going to upgrade, change your CPU as well.
  2. for me thats not an option right now.... I have to stick with this Processor for the next one year or so & as im tight on budget & the only thing fall within my reach is the i3-530 which gives out more or less the same performance.

but if i upgrade to ddr3 ram atleast i can use them for my new build.this is my main reason i want to upgrade.
  3. If you are going to use Core "i" CPUs,then you can't use the same RAM because Core 2 CPUs require different RAMs with different voltages.
    Anyway,this Patriot 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM

    With GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-USB3P

    would be a good combination.
  4. Hey Maziar i just googled a little bit and found out that, switching to ddr3 on a e7400 wont give me much. so I am going for ddr2 instead

Do you think these Rams will be compatible with my Motherboard (XFX 9300 nforce 730i) ??

    I have 4 choices.

    CORSAIR XMS2 4GB

    A-DATA G series 4GB

  5. Yes all of them should work fine, go with the G.Skill PI Black which has the best combination of voltage and speed
