Can you use a 2.5" HDD in a destop sata 3 motherboard?

Do you need an adapter to do this, because the connections do not look the same.

  1. If you see a bunch of pins on the drive, you need an adaptor. Startech makes good adaptors for almost anything.

If its a SATA 2.5" you can plug it right into SATA and SATA power on the desktop. Do it at work all the time.
  2. Ok, so this should work with my mini-itx motherboard.(sata 3)
