i am running a desktop with xp pro x64 and a netbook with xp pro x32 both are sp2
i am trying to share files over a network but cant seem to set it up right
both are set to the same workgroup and have latest drivers.
nothing is showing up in the desktop x64 network list when i select my workgroup
and only the netbook is showing up in the netbooks workgroup

i ran the network setup wiz on both pc's and applied the same settings to both computers and nothing.

on the desktop if running xp pro x32 the network runs fine but i can not seem to get the x64 and x32 xp to network properly

Thanks for the help ahead of time

Have you shared a drive or folder on each computer yet? need to do that before anything will show up.

yes i have shared folders on both computers.
i have the same exact set up on my router, and laptop.
the only thing that has changed is the o.s. on my desktop.
i went from windows xp x32 to x64, that is the only difference.

I fixed the problem. I just switched back to XP 32bit
i guess i will have to live without 64bit for sometime to come.

I have Windows 7 64 and have had no problems with it. XP 64 never was that good.
