Temperature check i7 920 @ 3.4ghz

I overclocked my i7 920 to 3.4ghz, and only saw maybe a 3 or 4 degree Celsius difference in temperature from the stock clock. I have a crappy corsair H70 cooler for my processor, and it's idling at about 40 Celsius. My friends have told me that is much too high for an idle temp. In most games I will max out at 60C, and in CPU intensive games I will hit 66/67 at times. Is this too hot? Am I doing something wrong? Should I reseat my cooler? Also, I tried setting the fan speed to 100% in the BIOS but it didn't seem to do anything....I have an ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard

your temps ar fine! 1st gen i7 runs a little hotter than 2nd but 67c isnt really hot! do not worry! idling temps doesnt reall matter.
