Mobo Asus Maximus Extreme iv p67
SSD OCZ 120 gig sata 3
Western Digital 2 TB black sata.
My build; I installed the SSD hard drive first and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. I then installed WD 2 terabyte hard drive. The hard drive posts but in windows the secondary hard drive cannot be read. It is not shown in bios either. I'm confused as to why the hd posts but does not read in bios.
The SSD is plugged into the #1 Marvell serial ATA 6.0 Gb/s port on the mobo.
The WD 2 TB is plugged into the #2 Marvell serial ATA 6.0 Gb/s port on the mobo

In bios Sata configuration is ACHI mode.

I did try WD 2 TB in the Intel P67 Serial ATA Port but the WD would not post.

Thanks for help, the noob.

Did you go into disk management and initialize/partition/formate the drive. Must initialize and partition before it will show up in my computer.

If the HDD is on the Intel Sata Port, you should be able to see it in Bios.

For SSD - Down load AS SSD. when you run it look at the upper left. This will show you the: Firmware revision, driver, and partition alignment. Ifyou run the benchmark, do NOT be surprised that you are below manuf specs. Two reasons A) you are on the Marvel controller (SSDs seems to be optimized for iaSTor with msahci in 2nd) and AS SSD uses compressed data (closer to real life day-to-day performance.
