Z68 SSD Chching?

I've recently been finding really good deals on smaller SSDs, ie $1 USD a gig on a 60 GB SSD. I would like to get an SSD to hold all my programs, but my steam games folder alone is more than 250 GB. I was wondering on how much of a performance boost I will get if I use the SSD caching feature on my Z68 Motherboard? And will I see a performance difference between SSDs? I've seen some SATA II SSDs going for less than a dollar a gig. Right now I'm using a Hitachi Diskstar 2TB at 5400 rpm.

  1. Go for it. A $60 upgrade? Absolutely. If you have a laptop drive this is a no brainer.
  2. You will see most gain from running an OS and couple of apps of your SSD if it is 60GB.

But how do SSDs perform in terms of Z68 caching?
