Welcome to THGF!

There is nothing wrong. It only has 2 cores / 4 threads... http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43560

I'm not sure where you got 4 cores / 8 threads from on the i7 620M. If it was an i7 PC CPU, it would be 4 cores / 8 threads but that doesn't hold true for the Moble CPU's :(

Hey I too want more Cores!!! :(  Anyway to get 6-cores + 12-threads from my i7 930??

Unfortunately, it's not like the AMD Athlon II X3 with an unlockable core.

I'm glade its a joke to you.... but thats what I bought and am supost to have, I have seen the link showing that my processor is only supost to have 2 cores 4 threads but explain to me why it showed 4/8 when i first got this computer and the tech i talked to at dell pulled out the same computer as i have and it showes 4/8 Im starting to think its a problem with my mother bord because thats not my only problem my speed step has the reverse effect as well. with speedstep disabled the computer is supost to run at full power even with the power cord disconnected (running on bat alone) but when i disable it my computer runs at 1/2 speed with the cord pluged in and 1/4 speed when it is on bat

We're sorry - not trying to make you feel bad.

Apparently the Salesman played a bait-and-switch <or> was lazy/dumb and gave you the WRONG box; example the i7 940XM is a 4-core / 8-thread CPU. SUGGESTION: Return it! - And make some hell!!! :fou:
