I'm trying to save a few bucks on my new build by using my old parts. I have 3x 1gb ddr2 memory that I would like to use on my new mobo I am about to buy. The mobo is advertised as a ddr3 standard memory slot motherboard so I am not sure if I can use my old ddr2 memory sticks on it. help >_<

No, DDR2 and DDR3 have different amounts of pins, and have different pinout. They are not backwards compatible.

There are only a handful of MOBOs that have both DDR2 & DDR3 DIMM slots, and even with those it's one or the other.

So, ^+1 "standard mobo"
