I just need to know if the build I'm using will work for what it needs to do, and what power supply I should use if I plan on upgrading the graphics card from 512MB>1 GB later and the CPU a bit - and adding a second HDD.

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:
Video editing, gaming (Playstation 1+2-era emulators and Diablo 3), general use

OVERCLOCKING: No
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1024x768

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'd like it to be quiet and not eat up a hellacious amount of power. Don't want to have to add more than a few fans. Not willing to mess with water cooling. Probably won't upgrade most parts for 4-5 years; my current computer lasted 8 years and I'd like another one that will last me for about as long.

Here's the build:

You were doing so well until you threw in the Corsair RAM, Antec 900, VelociCRaptor and nVidia card...

It would be helpful to know a full budget. And have working links.

RAM: G.Skill Pi Series 3x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 $180. These would either be much faster or much cheaper, possibly both.
HDD: Seagate 7200.12 500 GB $55. Faster, quieter and cooler. Not to mention about three times cheaper.
GPU: HD 5770 $155. nVidia is losing right now. I wouldn't get under this card. If possible, take the money saved on the VR and get HD 5850 or HD 5870.
Case: HAF 922 $90. Cheaper, and one of the best cases out there.

I have no idea why the site appended those between posts... weird...

@MadAdmiral: You're the second person who's mentioned that case so that's something worth noting. The memory seems fine compared with the original and it's less expensive too... any ideas what power supply I should use?

The antec 900 isn't big enough to fit the largest graphics cards, which on an 1800$ budget you should be getting.

try this case instead, cheap with a great amount of good sized fans, just found it today, and though it has good fans i do not know if it is worth anythign im still looking for a review on it. but it looks quite nice.

i just read a review on the case and it appears to be good by the review. I have also read a lot just rhough google searches and everyone seems to agree that it is great, the only thing is a large heatsink is a problem, but its very cheap for a fulltower. and very good here are some links with some information.

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/273083-31-azza-solano...

and the case itself.

the antec 900 is only worth something when it is largely discounted, like it was last week, and also see previous comment.

The HAF 922 is bigger and higher quality than that AZZA. It's also cheaper. I would say that the HAF 922 is easily the best case out there right now. There is really no reason to buy anything that is more expensive than the HAF. You'll pay more, but you certainly won't get anything more.
