PC building process please help!

I just got the parts for my pc and am now building, I took the motherboard out of the case without paying

attention to whether I was grounded or not, I didn't feel any static shocks and only touched the very end

of the motherboard. Before I did anything else I realized I probably shouldn't have done that. Is this a fatal

mistake or will I be OK? Could someone please inform me on proper grounding when installing parts onto the

motherboard and how to avoid damaging the cpu during installation. I am a newbie and don't know what

parts I can and cannot touch.

if you want to be safe get an anti static wrist strap

follw the instructions and you will stay grounded no problems.

These days the CPU's will only fit one way so you shouldnt be able to damage it by seating it wrong. Just make sure you line up the nodules and ensure the fastner to hold the cpu is properly attached
