Hello, I'm in the market for a new digital camera, I want a descent one
mainly used for family photography, I'm looking at the price range of $200
to $400. I would appreciate any pointers as to pros and cons ones that I
should look at. Thanks a lot.....BJ

Depends on what kind of camera you want. There are several good ones in that
price range.
Do you want something small and pocketable, or doesn't that matter?
Do you want something with plenty of user controls, or something you aren't
going to fuss with?
Do you want something for mostly 4 x 6 prints and only occasionally a 5 x 7
or 8 x 10, or do you plan on making a lot of large prints?

Pentax optio mx4
You might look at this as it does both still and movies . It is 4mp
Not the best, but a long ways from the worst.
