  1. ANS - YES, but you'll need to update the BIOS first to 1002 or 1203 as listed below.

  2. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply, very much appriciated.
  3. Just gone to the Asus site,my Bios is 2202,so do i still need to got to either 1002 or 1203,sorry to ask, just very unsure.
  4. BIOS v2202 is the very latest 2010/10/22; did you just flash your BIOS??

So if you have 2202 then you're good!
  5. Yes,funny enough i only did it a few days ago.So i dont have to have a persifc bios update,as long as i have the most upto date bios i take it iam good to go with the 6 core
  6. Yep, you're good for the Phenom IIX6 1045T with 2202 BIOS.
  7. Ok,just one more question then sorry lol, with a different bios update would i be able to fit the higher end 1090T CPU?
  8. The AMD Phenom II X6 1090T is the top of the available list, and is also supported. It's is an unlocked CPU which makes it very simple to OC. Anything faster hasn't been released yet.

The Bulldozer is next - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulldozer_(processor)
  9. That looks like its going to be a nice peice of kit, better start saving now. Thankyou for all your help with this, very much appriciated.
  10. You're welcome - anytime!

Good Luck on your Build! :)
  11. Hi Jaquith, sorry i am back to bother you one more time, just before i go and buy a new CPU,i know that you said that all i have to do is update the bios so that my MB will run with Core x6 AMD. Would the CPU run better with a AM3 enabled MB or will it run just as well on my AM2+ with the update?
  12. If you are asking me if the CPU is overkill for your current MOBO and/or it won't be fully utilized then --> ANS Yes. Hotrod engine w/blower in a stock Ford Fusion chassis.
    Chipset & RAM:
    AMD 790FX/SB600
    DDR2 1066/800/667/533 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory

Yes, you will need to update the BIOS 'prior' to installing the CPU; remember to get/use NEW thermal paste and clean the old heatsink.

Option - try it and later update the MOBO; stretch money over time. And something to mess around with later...rebuild. If messing around with is 'interesting'; it is to my Geeky side.
  13. I get ya lol,i know what i have to do,and thank you so much for the quick response. I will get the new CPU then a new MB in time.
    Thanks again ;)
  14. Good Luck! :)

Let me know who it all turns-out!
  15. Will do,this is starting to turn in to a full build lol,i was only going to replace the GPU,now i am looking at CPU`s and MB and memory lmao. Its all good tho.
    Much appricaite the feedback,many thanks.
