Now i am sorry if this is in the wrong section, but its to do with both MB and CPU.Anyway here is my question,i have a Asus M3A32-MVP DELUXE motherboard, would i be able to fit a AMD Phenomn II x6 CPU to it?. I have a AMD Phenomn 9950 x4 on it at the moment.
Hi Jaquith, sorry i am back to bother you one more time, just before i go and buy a new CPU,i know that you said that all i have to do is update the bios so that my MB will run with Core x6 AMD. Would the CPU run better with a AM3 enabled MB or will it run just as well on my AM2+ with the update?
If you are asking me if the CPU is overkill for your current MOBO and/or it won't be fully utilized then --> ANS Yes. Hotrod engine w/blower in a stock Ford Fusion chassis.
Chipset & RAM:
DDR2 1066/800/667/533 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Yes, you will need to update the BIOS 'prior' to installing the CPU; remember to get/use NEW thermal paste and clean the old heatsink.
Option - try it and later update the MOBO; stretch money over time. And something to mess around with later...rebuild. If messing around with is 'interesting'; it is to my Geeky side.
Will do,this is starting to turn in to a full build lol,i was only going to replace the GPU,now i am looking at CPU`s and MB and memory lmao. Its all good tho.
Much appricaite the feedback,many thanks.
